# Managing Comms Templates

## Adding Templates

1. From the GAP Admin home page, click "Templates" under the "Comms" section.
2. Click the "+ Add Comms Template" button.
3. Enter a name for the template in the "Name" text box.
4. Select a message bearer the template will be used for using the "Bearer" picker.
5. If e-mail is selected as a bearer, select a default priority for the messages from the "Priority" picker.
6. Enter a subject in the "Subject" text box.
7. Enter the template text into the text box and format it as desired.  You can use the parentheses button (<i class="fa-brackets-curly">:brackets-curly:</i>) to insert placeholders (such as recipient name, e-mail address and phone number) into the body of the resulting message.
8. Select whether the messages should require an acknowledgement of receipt, the selection of a response, or no action, using the "Request Response" picker.
9. If "Responses" is selected, add a response option (e.g. "Yes", "No", "Maybe") into the "Response Options" text box.
10. Click the "+ Add Response" button to add more.
11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 as required.
12. If you want to make the message template available to sub-tenants, check the "Applies to this tenant and sub-tenants" check box.
13. Click the "Submit" button.

## Editing Templates

1. From the GAP Admin home page, click "Templates" under the "Comms" section.
2. Click the <i class="fa-pencil">:pencil:</i> (edit) icon next to the name of the template you want to edit.
3. Click the "Edit Template" button.
4. To amend the template name, enter a new name for the template in the "Name" text box.
5. To change the bearer, select a new message bearer using the "Bearer" picker.
6. If e-mail is selected as a bearer, you can amend the default priority for the messages from the "Priority" picker.
7. To amend the subject, enter a new value in the "Subject" text box.
8. Amend the template text into the text box and format it as desired.  You can use the parentheses button (<i class="fa-brackets-curly">:brackets-curly:</i>) to insert placeholders (such as recipient name, e-mail address and phone number) into the body of the resulting message.
