# GAP for Travel Country Reference

## Introduction

This document details the countries that are loaded by default with new instances of GAP for Travel.

There is no single, formally accepted definition of a country and, as such, there is no single, universally agreed-upon list of countries.  Therefore, for the purposes of GAP for Travel, it has been necessary to define such a list.

## Definition

For the purposes of GAP for Travel, a country is defined as being:

* A geographical state that is a full or partial member of the United Nations (UN) **and**
* Included in the ISO-3166 Part 1 standard ("Codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions")
